At the heart of The Lodge Wadjemup is ‘Sunsets’, our open Bar & Dining space, with large indoor and outdoor areas, serving delicious food and drinks. And facing the main settlement is our little kiosk ‘Pelican’ serving up great coffee, softserve, sandwiches and more.

All Island visitors are welcome to Eat & Drink with us.

Open to everyone

Located at the heart of The Lodge Wadjemup, Sunsets Bar & Dining is our relaxed, open bar & dining space made for long, easy island days. The expansive front terrace overlooks the Rottnest salt lakes with a front-row seat to the west-end’s iconic sunsets. The sheltered rear courtyard offers respite from the sun and wind, with shaded pergolas, banquette seating and communal tables perfect for groups.

Inside, you’ll find everything from laid-back lounge spaces to social dining areas. The drinks list spans ice-cold beer, custom cocktails and a curated selection of wines. Our Mediterranean-inspired menu heroes fresh, coastal flavours and locally sourced ingredients.

Think long, lazy lunches, spritzes in the sunshine and sunset cocktails that taste like holidays.

Join us for breakfast from 7:00am–10:00am during the summer season.

Enjoy our breakfast buffet featuring hot dishes, cereals, fruit, pastries and our signature frozen yoghurt.

Welcome to Sunsets Spritz Garden

Summer on Wadjemup and spritz season were always meant to meet.

Sunsets Spritz Garden, created in partnership with the playful and flavour-forward Idle Hands Drinks Co. is an alfresco bar designed for long afternoons, shared plates and that unmistakable island feeling that makes you want to stay just a little longer.

Set within Sunsets relaxed outdoor space, the Spritz Garden is where beach days drift into golden hour, glasses clink, music hums and time slows down.

What’s Pouring

Expect a curated menu of signature spritzes made for summer sipping, including:

  • Hugo Spritz – elderflower, fresh mint and bright citrus

  • Stonefruit Spritz – peach, mango and hibiscus

  • Limonata Spritz – zesty lemon with a hint of vanilla

On tap, island favourites flow freely — from a crisp Margarita Fizz to a refreshing Watermelon Collins, perfect for warm Wadjemup afternoons.

Eat, Sip, Stay Awhile

The full Sunsets Bar & Dining food and beverage menu is available all day, making it easy to graze, sip and settle in. Whether you’re fresh from the beach, the Poolhouse, or easing into sunset with friends, everything you need is right here.

When to Visit

The Spritz Garden is officially pouring seven days a week from midday until late, with live music every Friday and Saturday to carry you from afternoon into evening.

Pelican Coffee & Softserve

Our little kiosk serving coffee, softserve and more… Satisfying the call of parents and kids alike. Open all day for putting smiles on dials.

Bringing the excitement of the corner milk bar or the ice cream shop of old, Pelican is both for kids and for adults who are kids at heart. Stock up on sambos and rolls to take on the road, or sit back and relax under the umbrellas in our front courtyard.

The menu at Pelican is ever-changing – a rotational selection that shifts week to week. You’ll find the latest offerings up on the letterboard, and on our printed mini menus available at the kiosk. No set menus here – just simple, tasty fun that reflects what’s fresh and seasonal.

Pelican is open to all, facing the communal park just behind Rottnest’s main settlement precinct (right next to the old Chapel).
